The ACCUPRO 72076946 is a single-end, solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding materials. Built to a 3/8 inch diameter with six flutes and an AlTiN+ coating, it delivers extended tool life and heat resistance in high-temperature alloy applications. The 0.0200 inch corner radius reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge, and the variable helix and variable index geometry actively suppresses chatter for improved surface finish and dimensional accuracy. Overall length is 3 inches with a 1 inch length of cut. Licensed machinists and CNC programmers in aerospace, defense, and precision manufacturing specify this tool for difficult-to-machine alloys where tool life and edge integrity are critical.
This end mill is optimized for cutting high-temperature alloys (material code S), including nickel-based superalloys, titanium, and cobalt-chromite materials commonly encountered in aerospace and medical component machining. The right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting orientation suit standard CNC vertical and horizontal machining center setups. The centercutting geometry allows for direct plunge entry as well as ramping and helical interpolation strategies. The 3/8 inch shank diameter mates with standard ER or hydraulic toolholders of the same bore size.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers with standard 3/8 inch bore toolholding systems. Optimized for primary workpiece material classification S (high-temperature alloys) per the ACCUPRO HS series designation.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and the control in a safe state. Seat the shank fully in the toolholder and torque the retention mechanism to the toolholder manufacturer's specification before running. Verify runout with a dial indicator after setup; excessive runout will accelerate edge wear on carbide tooling. Always confirm cutting parameters including speed, feed, and depth of cut are appropriate for the workpiece material before initiating a cut.
