The ACCUPRO 72070725 is a single-end, solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding materials. It carries a 5/16 inch (0.3125 inch) mill diameter and a 0.030 inch corner radius, with six flutes and an AlTiN+ coating optimized for heat resistance and tool life. The variable helix and variable index geometry reduce harmonic vibration during cutting, improving surface finish and chip evacuation. This tool is built for machinists and toolroom operators running CNC milling equipment where tight tolerances and long tool life in difficult workpiece materials are the priority.
This end mill is rated for use in high-temperature alloys (material code S), which includes nickel-based superalloys, titanium, and similar difficult-to-machine materials common in aerospace, medical, and power generation machining. The centercutting design allows plunge entry, and the right-hand flute direction with right-hand cutting rotation suits standard CNC vertical and horizontal milling center setups. The 3 inch overall length with a 1-1/4 inch length of cut gives adequate reach for most pocket and profile operations without excessive deflection.
Designed for use in high-temperature alloy machining applications (ANSI material group S). Fits standard 5/16 inch collets, shrink-fit holders, and hydraulic chucks on CNC milling centers.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a safe, locked-out state. Ensure the shank is fully seated and properly torqued in the toolholder to the holder manufacturer's specification before operation. Verify runout with a dial indicator before first use, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear and reduces dimensional accuracy. Follow the cutting tool manufacturer's recommended speeds and feeds for the specific workpiece material and machine horsepower.
