The ACCUPRO 72055312 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding materials. Built to the HS series standard, it features a 1/4 inch (6.35 mm) mill diameter with a matching 1/4 inch shank, six flutes, and a 1 inch length of cut. The AlTiN+ coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life when cutting high-temperature alloys and other hard materials. Variable helix and variable index geometry reduce chatter and improve surface finish. The centercutting design allows for plunge entry as well as conventional peripheral milling, giving machinists flexibility in toolpath strategy.
This end mill is suited for milling high-temperature alloys (UNSPSC material code S), including nickel-based superalloys, titanium, and similar difficult-to-cut materials common in aerospace, medical device, and energy component machining. The single-end, right-hand cut and right-hand helical flute configuration is standard for use on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills. Its compact 1/4 inch diameter makes it well suited for detail work, slotting, and profiling in tight geometries. Overall length is 3 inches, supporting reach into moderate-depth features without sacrificing rigidity.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-application solid carbide end mill for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting 1/4 inch straight-shank toolholders, collets, or end mill holders. Optimized for high-temperature alloy workpiece materials.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following standard toolholding procedures. Ensure the shank is fully seated and clamped to the minimum engagement depth recommended for the toolholder type in use. Confirm spindle and coolant settings are appropriate for the workpiece material before starting the cut. Do not exceed the toolholder's rated runout tolerance, as runout significantly reduces tool life in carbide end mills.
