The ACCUPRO 72054380 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding applications. With a 0.2500 inch mill diameter and 6 helical flutes, it delivers efficient material removal and superior surface finish in high-temperature alloys and similarly difficult workpiece materials. The AlTiN+ coating provides enhanced heat resistance and wear protection at elevated cutting temperatures. The variable helix angle of 36 and 40 degrees reduces harmonic vibration during cuts, extending tool life and improving finish quality. This end mill is center-cutting, allowing plunge entry, and features a right-hand cutting and flute direction with a straight shank. It is intended for use by machinists and CNC tooling professionals.
This ball end mill is suited for profiling, contouring, and finishing operations in high-temp alloys including nickel-based and titanium alloys, corresponding to ISO material group S. Its 1.0000 inch length of cut and 3.0000 inch overall length make it appropriate for moderate-depth cavity work and 3D surface milling. The single-end design and straight shank with 0.2500 inch diameter allow direct chuck or collet mounting in standard CNC machining centers and manual mills. No coolant-through capability is present, so external coolant or air blast is recommended when cutting heat-resistant materials.
Designed for use in standard CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 0.2500 inch straight shank via collet or end mill holder. Primary workpiece material classification is high-temp alloy (material code S), covering nickel, cobalt, and titanium-based alloys.
This tool is installed by a machinist or CNC tooling technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down or in a safe-stop state before changing tooling. Seat the straight shank fully into the collet or holder before torquing to the equipment manufacturer's specification. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production cut, as even minor runout significantly affects tool life in carbide end mills.
