The ACCUPRO 72054182 is a single-end, solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding applications. It features a 1/4-inch (0.2500 inch) mill diameter with a 0.0600-inch corner radius, six flutes, and an AlTiN plus coating optimized for heat and wear resistance. The variable helix and variable index geometry reduce harmonic vibration and chatter, enabling more stable cuts at aggressive parameters. The centercutting design allows plunge entry. This tool is intended for use by machinists and CNC operators working in job shops, aerospace, medical, and precision manufacturing environments.
The 72054182 is engineered for cutting high-temperature alloys (material code S), including nickel-based superalloys, titanium, and cobalt-chrome. Its 3/4-inch length of cut (0.7500 inch) and 2-1/2-inch overall length suit it for standard-depth profiling, slotting, and contouring operations on CNC machining centers. The 1/4-inch shank diameter fits standard ER collet systems and hydraulic toolholders common in precision shops. Right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting orientation are standard for conventional CNC setups.
Designed for use in CNC machining applications where the primary workpiece material is a high-temperature alloy (ACCUPRO material code S). Fits standard 1/4-inch ER collet chucks, shrink-fit holders, and hydraulic toolholders.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in an e-stop or locked-out state. Ensure the shank is fully seated and the collet or toolholder is torqued to the toolholder manufacturer specification before running. Verify runout with a dial indicator before engaging the workpiece, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear on multi-flute carbide tools. Consult the machine and toolholder manufacturer guidelines for maximum RPM and clamping torque values appropriate to this shank diameter.
