The ACCUPRO 72052996 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining applications. Built with a 0.25-inch diameter and six flutes, this single-end mill delivers a 0.5-inch length of cut with a 0.01-inch corner radius. The AlTiN+ coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life when cutting heat-resistant superalloys and other difficult materials. A variable helix and variable index geometry reduce chatter and improve surface finish compared to standard constant-helix tools. It is center-cutting, allowing plunge entry, and features right-hand cutting and flute direction.
This end mill is engineered primarily for High-Temp Alloy workpiece materials, classified under material code S, making it well suited for aerospace, power generation, and precision machining environments where nickel-based and titanium alloys are common. With an overall length of 2.5 inches and a 0.25-inch shank diameter, it fits standard 1/4-inch collets and tool holders used on CNC machining centers and manual mills. The compact geometry is appropriate for tight-tolerance finishing and semi-finishing passes in small-envelope features.
Designed for use with high-temp alloys (material code S) as the primary workpiece material. Fits standard 1/4-inch collet tool holders on CNC and manual milling machines.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a locked-out state per facility lockout/tagout procedures. Seat the 0.25-inch shank fully and evenly in a clean, properly sized collet or end mill holder before tightening to avoid runout. Inspect the cutting edges and coating for chips or wear before each use, especially when working with high-temp alloys where tool condition directly affects surface integrity. Follow the tooling manufacturer and machine builder recommendations for speeds, feeds, and depth of cut appropriate to the workpiece material.
