The ACCUPRO 72049091 is a single-end, solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding materials. It features a 0.1875-inch (3/16 inch) diameter, six flutes, and an AlTiN+ coating for heat resistance and extended tool life. The corner radius measures 0.030 inches, helping reduce stress concentrations at the base of a cut. With a variable helix and variable index geometry, this end mill minimizes chatter and improves chip evacuation. It is intended for use by machinists and CNC operators working in production or job-shop environments where tight tolerances and difficult materials are the norm.
This end mill is designed primarily for cutting high-temperature alloys, classified under workpiece material code S. That includes nickel-based, cobalt-based, and titanium alloys commonly found in aerospace, medical, and industrial turbine component work. The 9/16-inch length of cut and 2.5-inch overall length make it suited for light-to-moderate depth profiling, slotting, and finishing passes in those materials. The right-hand cutting direction and center-cutting capability allow for plunge entry and versatile toolpath strategies on 3-axis and multi-axis CNC machining centers.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers with standard 3/16-inch (0.1875-inch) collet or toolholder systems. Optimized for high-temperature alloys (material code S), including nickel, cobalt, and titanium alloy workpieces.
Installation is performed by qualified CNC machinists or toolroom technicians. Secure the shank fully in a precision collet or end mill holder rated for the shank diameter before operation. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production run, as excessive runout accelerates wear on small-diameter carbide tools. Never exceed the manufacturer-recommended speeds and feeds for the workpiece material and coating type.
