The ACCUPRO 72046618 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding materials. With a 3/16-inch (0.1875 inches) diameter and 6-flute geometry, this tool delivers smooth chip evacuation and superior surface finish in tight-tolerance applications. The AlTiN+ coating improves heat resistance and tool life when cutting high-temperature alloys and other difficult workpiece materials. At 2.0 inches overall length with a 5/16-inch length of cut, this end mill is built for finishing and semi-finishing passes where precision and rigidity matter. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working with nickel-based superalloys, titanium, and similar S-category materials will find this tool well-suited to their programs.
This end mill is intended primarily for high-temperature alloy machining, where tool geometry and coating selection are critical. The variable helix (36 and 40 degrees) combined with variable index reduces harmonic chatter during cut, making it effective in both conventional and climb milling strategies. The centercutting design allows plunge entry as well as profiling and contouring operations. It fits standard 3/16-inch collets or toolholders and is suited to CNC machining centers running multi-axis or 3-axis programs in aerospace, medical, and high-precision manufacturing environments.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers with 3/16-inch collet or toolholder systems. Primary workpiece material designation is S (High-Temperature Alloy), including nickel, cobalt, and titanium-based alloys. Part of the ACCUPRO HS series.
Installation should be performed by a qualified CNC machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before changing tooling. Seat the straight shank fully into the collet or toolholder and torque the retention nut to the toolholder specification. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before beginning a new program, as excessive runout will accelerate wear on a 6-flute carbide tool and affect surface finish.
