The ACCUPRO 72038482 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding materials. With a 3/4-inch mill diameter, six flutes, and an AlTiN+ coating, this tool is built for machining high-temperature alloys and other hard-to-cut workpiece materials. The ball nose geometry enables contouring, profiling, and 3D surface work where a flat end mill cannot reach. Variable helix and variable index geometry reduce chatter and harmonic vibration, improving surface finish and tool life. It is used by machinists and tool-and-die professionals on CNC milling centers in aerospace, defense, and precision manufacturing environments.
This end mill is suited for single-end use in high-temp alloy applications, designated by workpiece material code S. The 1.25-inch length of cut, 4-inch overall length, and straight 3/4-inch shank make it compatible with standard ER and end mill holders on vertical and horizontal machining centers. The right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional CNC milling spindles. Center-cutting capability allows direct plunge entry. The HS series designation indicates a high-performance geometry targeting difficult alloys at elevated cutting speeds.
Designed for use in standard straight-shank end mill holders and ER collet chucks accepting a 3/4-inch shank diameter. Primary workpiece material is high-temperature alloy (material code S).
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the tool from the holder. Verify runout with a dial indicator after seating the tool to confirm proper holder engagement. Follow the tool manufacturer and machine builder guidelines for speeds, feeds, and depth of cut when programming for high-temp alloy applications.
