The ACCUPRO 72035272 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding materials, particularly high-temperature alloys. With a 3/8 inch (0.3750 inch) mill diameter and 6 helical flutes, it delivers smooth chip evacuation and consistent surface finishes in difficult-to-machine workpiece materials. The AlTiN+ coating provides thermal and oxidation resistance critical when cutting nickel-based alloys, titanium, and similar aerospace-grade materials. The variable helix and variable index geometry reduce harmonic vibration during cutting, improving tool life and finish quality. This is a single-end, center-cutting tool intended for use by machinists in production and job shop environments on CNC machining centers and mills.
This end mill is suited for roughing and finishing operations in high-temp alloy applications, identified under material code S. The 1.5 inch length of cut and 3.5 inch overall length make it well suited for moderate-depth cavity, slot, and contour milling. The straight shank with a 3/8 inch shank diameter fits standard ER and other common toolholders. Its right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional CNC milling setups. The tool carries no chipbreaker and does not support coolant-through delivery, so flood or mist coolant applied externally is the appropriate cooling method for this geometry.
Designed for use in standard 3/8 inch straight-shank toolholders on CNC machining centers and mills. Primary workpiece material designation is high-temp alloy (material code S), including nickel-based superalloys and titanium. Specific machine or holder compatibility should be confirmed against the toolholder manufacturer specifications.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and machine power isolated per shop lockout/tagout procedures. Ensure the shank is fully seated and properly torqued in the toolholder to the holder manufacturer specification before operation. Verify runout with a dial indicator before commencing a cut, as excessive runout will accelerate wear on this multi-flute geometry. External flood or mist coolant is recommended since this tool does not support coolant-through delivery.
