The ACCUPRO 72028632 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for high-performance milling in demanding materials. With a 1/2 inch diameter, six flutes, and a 2 inch length of cut, this single-end tool delivers aggressive material removal while maintaining edge integrity. The AlTiN+ coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life in high-temperature cutting environments. Variable index and variable helix geometry reduce harmonic vibration and chatter, making this tool well-suited for difficult-to-machine workpieces. It is centercutting and features right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting direction.
This end mill is designed primarily for machining high-temperature alloys, classified under material code S. Typical applications include aerospace components, turbine parts, and other workpieces requiring tight tolerances in nickel-based, cobalt-based, or titanium alloys. The 0.12 inch corner radius reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and helps achieve cleaner corner profiles in slots, pockets, and profile cuts. The 4 inch overall length and 1/2 inch shank diameter make it compatible with standard milling chucks and collet holders used in vertical machining centers and CNC milling setups.
Designed for use in CNC milling applications targeting high-temperature alloys (material code S), including nickel, cobalt, and titanium-based materials. Compatible with standard 1/2 inch milling chucks, shrink-fit holders, and collet systems.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with CNC tooling setup and workholding procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully powered down and the machine is in a safe state before changing tooling. Tool runout should be verified with a dial indicator after installation to confirm proper seating in the holder. Follow the machine tool manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety protocols when setting feeds, speeds, and depth of cut for high-temp alloy operations.
