The ACCUPRO 72023682 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for demanding material removal in high-temperature alloys and other difficult-to-machine workpiece materials. The tool measures 1/2 inch in diameter with a 2-inch length of cut and a 4-inch overall length. It features 6 flutes with a variable helix and variable index geometry, which reduces harmonic vibration and improves surface finish at aggressive feed rates. An AlTiN+ coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life in dry or minimal-lubrication cutting environments. The corner radius measures 0.06 inches, protecting the cutting edge and reducing stress concentrations in slotting and profiling operations. This end mill is installed and operated by machinists and CNC programmers working in aerospace, power generation, and precision manufacturing.
This tool is suited for high-performance milling of high-temp alloys including nickel-based superalloys, titanium, and similar S-class workpiece materials. It is a single-end, centercutting design, allowing plunge entry in addition to standard peripheral and slot milling. The right-hand cutting direction and right-hand flute spiral are compatible with standard CNC machining center spindle rotation. The 1/2-inch shank diameter fits standard ER or side-lock toolholders commonly found on vertical and horizontal machining centers. Variable helix and variable index flute spacing are particularly effective when cutting thin-wall aerospace components or hard alloy forgings where chatter control is critical.

Installation and tool changes should be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and the control in a safe, locked-out state per facility lockout/tagout procedures. Seat the 1/2-inch shank fully into the toolholder and torque the retention hardware according to the toolholder manufacturer's specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before cutting; excessive runout accelerates edge wear and can fracture carbide tooling. Consult published speeds and feeds data for the specific workpiece alloy and coating type before programming the first cut.
