The ACCUPRO 72022981 is a 6-flute solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding materials. Built with a 3/8 inch (0.375 inch) mill diameter and a 0.060 inch corner radius, it delivers controlled edge blending and improved tool life at the cutting corner. The AlTiN+ coating provides oxidation resistance and thermal hardness, making this end mill well-suited for high-temperature alloy machining where heat generation is a significant concern. The variable helix and variable index geometry reduce harmonic vibration and chatter during aggressive cuts. Machinists in aerospace, defense, and industrial manufacturing rely on tools in this class for finishing and semi-finishing passes in difficult-to-machine materials.
This end mill is intended for cutting high-temperature alloys, including nickel-based, cobalt-based, and titanium superalloys, designated under material code S. It is configured as a single-end, center-cutting tool with right-hand cutting direction and right-hand flute direction, supporting conventional and climb milling strategies. The 1.5 inch length of cut and 3.5 inch overall length suit it for moderate-depth pocketing, slotting, and profiling operations on CNC machining centers. The 3/8 inch shank seats directly into standard ER or end mill holders without adapters.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide end mill for use in CNC machining centers with standard 3/8 inch end mill or collet-style toolholders, primarily targeting high-temperature alloy workpieces.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. The tool shank should be seated to the full recommended engagement depth in the holder and secured to the toolholder manufacturer's specified torque before spindle operation. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the control is in an e-stop or tool-change state before inserting or removing the end mill. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer's recommended speeds and feeds for the coating and workpiece material combination.
