The ACCUPRO 72022643 is a single-end, solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding materials. It carries a 5/16-inch (0.3125 inch) mill diameter and features six flutes with a variable helix and variable index geometry. The AlTiN+ coating provides elevated heat resistance, making this tool well suited for cutting high-temperature alloys and other difficult-to-machine workpiece materials. The corner radius measures 0.060 inch (1.52 mm), reducing stress concentration at the cutting edge and extending tool life. Machinists and CNC programmers in aerospace, energy, and precision manufacturing shops are the primary users of this end mill.
This end mill is intended for milling operations in high-temp alloys, classified under primary workpiece material code S. Typical applications include slotting, peripheral milling, and profiling in materials such as nickel-based superalloys and titanium where heat buildup and tool wear are primary concerns. The centercutting capability allows plunge entry in addition to standard side and slot milling. It is suited for use on CNC vertical and horizontal machining centers running appropriate feeds and speeds for carbide tooling in alloy applications.

Installation and tool changes must be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine spindle fully stopped and the machine in a safe, locked-out state. Secure the shank in a clean, properly sized collet or tool holder, torquing the collet nut to the tool holder manufacturer's specification. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or coating damage before mounting. Run-out should be verified with a dial indicator before beginning a production cut, particularly when machining high-temp alloys where tool deflection directly affects surface integrity.
