The ACCUPRO 72020928 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for high-performance metal removal in demanding applications. It features a 5/8 inch (0.6250 inch) diameter, a 6-flute configuration, and an AlTiN+ coating designed to extend tool life under high heat and abrasion. The variable helix and variable index geometry reduce harmonic vibration during cutting, improving surface finish and dimensional accuracy. With a 0.0300 inch corner radius, this end mill protects the cutting edge and reduces stress concentration in corners. It is a single-end, center-cutting tool with right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting direction, suited for machinists and CNC operators working in precision environments.
This end mill is designed primarily for machining high-temperature alloys, classified under primary workpiece material code S. Typical applications include aerospace components, turbine hardware, and other tight-tolerance parts made from nickel-based, titanium, and cobalt alloys. The 1-1/4 inch length of cut and 3-1/2 inch overall length make it appropriate for medium-depth slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling operations on vertical and horizontal machining centers. The extended flute count and rigid solid carbide substrate support higher feed rates in difficult-to-machine materials.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills with a 5/8 inch collet, end mill holder, or shrink-fit toolholder. Optimized for high-temperature alloys including nickel, titanium, and cobalt-based materials as noted by the S-series workpiece material designation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and machine is in an e-stop or locked-out state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully and evenly in the toolholder to the minimum engagement depth recommended by the holder manufacturer to prevent runout. Do not use this end mill beyond its rated length of cut; exceeding the 1-1/4 inch cutting length can cause deflection, premature wear, or tool breakage.
