The ACCUPRO 72020886 is a single-end, solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance metal removal in demanding machining applications. With a 0.5-inch mill diameter, six flutes, and a 2-inch length of cut, it delivers aggressive material engagement with a fine 0.030-inch corner radius that protects edge integrity. The AlTiN Plus coating increases surface hardness and heat resistance, making this tool well-suited for sustained cutting at elevated temperatures. Variable helix and variable index geometry reduce harmonic chatter and improve chip evacuation. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction are standard. Machinists and CNC operators working in job shops, aerospace, or energy sector environments will find this tool matched to their precision requirements.
This end mill is engineered primarily for cutting high-temperature alloys, designated by workpiece material code S. Typical applications include profiling, slotting, and finishing passes on nickel-based superalloys, titanium alloys, and similar difficult-to-machine materials. The centercutting capability allows plunge entry, adding versatility for ramping or helical interpolation entry strategies. The 0.5-inch shank diameter fits standard ER or hydraulic toolholders used in vertical and horizontal machining centers. The 4-inch overall length provides clearance for moderate-depth features without excessive tool deflection.
Designed for use in machining centers with standard 0.5-inch toolholders. Primary workpiece material designation is high-temperature alloy (material code S), including nickel-based superalloys and titanium alloys.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and locked out per facility safety procedures. Ensure the 0.5-inch shank is properly seated and torqued in the toolholder according to the toolholder manufacturer's specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning cuts, especially when working with tight-tolerance features. Consult your CAM software or speeds-and-feeds reference for appropriate cutting parameters for the specific workpiece material and coating combination.
