The ACCUPRO 72017494 is a single-end, solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for demanding material removal in high-temperature alloys (UNSPSC material code S). It carries a 1/2-inch mill diameter, a 2-inch length of cut, and a 0.015-inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge. The AlTiN+ coating delivers high heat resistance and extended tool life in the abrasive, work-hardening conditions common to nickel-based superalloys, titanium, and similar aerospace and power-generation materials. A variable helix and variable index geometry reduces harmonic vibration during aggressive cuts, making this tool well suited for high-efficiency milling strategies.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers handling high-temp alloy components found in aerospace, power generation, medical, and oil-and-gas applications. With centercutting capability, it supports both plunge and ramp entry, giving machinists flexibility in toolpath programming. The right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting orientation are standard for conventional CNC spindle setups. A 1/2-inch shank mates with standard ER or side-lock collet toolholders across most machining platforms.
Designed for use in CNC machining applications where the primary workpiece material is high-temperature alloy (material code S). The 1/2-inch shank diameter is compatible with standard ER collet chucks and side-lock toolholders of the same bore size.
Installation of this end mill should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in an e-stop or lockout state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully in the collet or toolholder and torque the retention nut to the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production cut, as excessive runout will accelerate edge wear on carbide tooling.
