The ACCUPRO 72014707 is a single-end, solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding applications. Built with six flutes, a variable helix, and a variable index geometry, it reduces chatter and improves surface finish in difficult-to-machine materials. The AlTiN+ coating delivers elevated heat and wear resistance, making it well suited for dry or semi-dry cutting at aggressive parameters. The 0.015-inch corner radius adds edge strength and reduces chipping at the cutting edge. At 0.25 inches in diameter with a 0.375-inch length of cut and 2-inch overall length, this tool fits standard quarter-inch collets and tool holders.
This end mill is designed for machining high-temperature alloys, including nickel-base, titanium, and cobalt alloys commonly encountered in aerospace, power generation, and medical component manufacturing. Its variable helix and variable index design are specifically chosen to suppress harmonics during deep slotting and side milling passes in these materials. The center-cutting geometry allows plunge entry where the operation requires it. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction make it compatible with standard CNC machining center spindle rotation.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers with standard 0.25-inch collets or end mill holders. Primary workpiece material is high-temperature alloy (material code S), including titanium, nickel, and cobalt-based alloys.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and machine placed in an appropriate lockout state per shop safety procedures. Seat the 0.25-inch shank fully in a matching collet or shrink-fit holder and torque to the tool holder specification. Verify runout at the cutting edge before beginning the operation, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear on carbide tools. Consult the machine tool manufacturer and cutting tool data for recommended speeds and feeds for the specific workpiece material.
