The ACCUPRO 72011885 is a single-end, solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding metalworking applications. It carries a 5/16 inch (0.3125 inch) mill diameter, a 6-flute configuration, and an AlTiN+ coating engineered for heat resistance and extended tool life in difficult-to-machine materials. The 1 inch length of cut and 3 inch overall length make it well-suited for finishing and semi-finishing passes where rigidity and surface finish matter. This tool is installed and used by machinists, tool-and-die makers, and CNC operators working in job shops, aerospace, and precision manufacturing environments.
This end mill is designed primarily for milling high-temperature alloys, including nickel-based and titanium-based materials (workpiece material code S). The variable helix angle of 36 to 40 degrees and variable index geometry help reduce harmonics and chatter during cutting, which is especially valuable in thin-wall or difficult-fixturing setups. The right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional CNC milling center spindles. The shank diameter matches the mill diameter at 5/16 inch, making it compatible with standard ER collet systems and end mill holders of that bore size.
Designed for use in standard ER collet chucks, shrink-fit holders, and end mill holders with a 5/16 inch bore. Primary workpiece material is high-temperature alloy (material code S); the AlTiN+ coating also suits hardened steels and stainless grades in many general applications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator following shop safety procedures and machine tool manufacturer guidelines. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in an e-stop or locked-out state before changing tooling. Seat the shank to the minimum recommended insertion depth in the holder and torque the collet nut per the holder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production cut, particularly in high-temperature alloy applications where tool deflection has significant consequences.
