The ACCUPRO 72011570 is a single-end, solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling of high-temperature alloys and other demanding workpiece materials. It features a 0.2500 inch mill diameter with six flutes and an AlTiN+ coating, which provides heat resistance and wear protection during aggressive cuts. The 36-40 degree variable helix and variable index geometry reduce chatter and improve chip evacuation. With a 1.2500 inch length of cut and a 3.0000 inch overall length, this end mill suits both finish and roughing passes where tight tolerances and tool life matter. It is used by machinists and CNC operators working in aerospace, defense, and industrial manufacturing environments.
This end mill is suited for milling high-temperature alloys, including nickel-based superalloys, titanium, and similar difficult-to-cut materials classified under workpiece material code S. The 1/4 inch shank diameter fits standard collet chucks and shrink-fit holders commonly found on vertical and horizontal machining centers. The right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction make it compatible with conventional CNC milling setups. Centercutting capability allows plunge entry without a pre-drilled pilot hole, expanding its use in slotting and pocket milling operations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement end mill for CNC machining centers using 1/4 inch collet or shrink-fit toolholding systems, with primary application in high-temperature alloy (material code S) milling operations.
This end mill is installed by machinists or CNC setup technicians using a properly sized collet chuck or shrink-fit holder rated for the 0.2500 inch shank diameter. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool is secured to the specified holder runout tolerance before engaging the workpiece. Follow the machine tool manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety procedures when changing cutting tools. Do not exceed the tool's rated length of cut engagement depth during slotting or full-width cuts.
