The ACCUPRO 72010382 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding materials. Built with 6 helical flutes and an AlTiN+ coating, it is engineered primarily for cutting high-temperature alloys (material code S), including nickel-based superalloys, titanium, and similar hard-to-machine workpiece materials. The 0.2500-inch diameter mill features a variable helix angle ranging from 36 to 40 degrees and a variable index design, both of which reduce harmonic vibration and chatter during aggressive cuts. This is a single-end, right-hand cutting tool with right-hand flute direction and a centercutting geometry, allowing it to plunge as well as profile mill. It is installed and used by machinists in aerospace, medical, and industrial manufacturing environments.
This end mill suits applications in CNC machining centers where high-temp alloys and difficult materials demand superior edge retention and thermal resistance. The 3/8-inch length of cut provides adequate flute engagement for shallow-to-moderate depth passes, while the 2.0-inch overall length keeps the tool rigid and minimizes deflection. The 0.2500-inch shank diameter matches standard collets and tool holders common in production and job-shop environments. No coolant-through capability is present, so flood or mist coolant at the spindle face is the appropriate cooling method. Extended reach is not applicable to this configuration.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide square end mill for use in CNC machining applications involving high-temperature alloys, consistent with the ACCUPRO HS series fractional-inch tooling line.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before inserting or removing the tool from the collet or tool holder. Verify collet size matches the 0.2500-inch shank diameter and that the tool is seated to the correct gauge length before tightening. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer's recommended speeds and feeds for the specific workpiece material being cut.
