The ACCUPRO 71177968 is a solid carbide spiral upcut router bit designed for precise routing and profiling of plastic sheet goods and engineered surfaces. The single-edge, right-hand cutting geometry with a 21-degree helix angle pulls chips upward and out of the cut, reducing heat buildup and improving surface finish at the cut edge. At 0.5 inches in diameter with a 1.625-inch length of cut and a 1/2-inch shank, this bit fits standard 1/2-inch collet routers and CNC router spindles used in fabrication shops and millwork operations. The uncoated solid carbide construction delivers sharp edge retention on abrasive thermoplastics.
This bit is suited for routing, profiling, and slotting operations on a broad range of thermoplastic and engineered surface materials. Typical applications include through-cutting and edge profiling on sheet goods in fabrication, sign-making, and countertop shop environments. The upcut flute direction makes it particularly effective on CNC router tables where chip evacuation from deep slots or full-depth passes is critical to cut quality and tool life.
Designed for use on ABS, Acrylic, HDPE, HIPS, PE, PET, POM, PS, Polycarbonate, Polypropylene, Solid Surfaces, and UHMW. Fits any router or CNC spindle accepting a 1/2-inch collet.
Install in a 1/2-inch collet and torque the collet nut to the spindle manufacturer's specified value before operation. Ensure the router or CNC spindle is fully powered down and the collet is released before changing bits. Verify shank insertion depth meets the tool holder's minimum engagement requirement. Inspect the carbide cutting edge for chips or cracks before each use, particularly after cutting abrasive filled materials.
