The ACCUPRO 71177364 is a downcut spiral router bit engineered for precision routing in plastic materials. Built from solid carbide, this single-edge bit features a 21-degree helix angle that drives chips downward during cutting, keeping the top surface of the workpiece clean and minimizing tearout. It carries a 0.25 inch cutter diameter and a 0.375 inch length of cut, making it well suited for shallow-pass routing operations where surface finish matters. The 1/4 inch shank diameter fits standard router collets. The bright uncoated finish means the carbide substrate runs cool and clean against thermoplastics. Woodworkers, CNC operators, and fabricators working with plastic sheet goods will find this bit a reliable choice for detailed profiling and slot work.
This bit is intended for routing plastic substrates including acrylic, PVC, HDPE, and similar thermoplastic sheet materials. The downcut flute geometry makes it particularly effective when the top face of the material must remain chip-free, such as when routing decorative panels, signage blanks, or laminated sheets. It is used in handheld routers and CNC router tables equipped with a 1/4 inch collet. The right-hand cutting direction is standard for conventional router spindle rotation. At 2.5 inches overall length, it fits most standard router chucks without requiring extended-reach tooling.

Disconnect or power down the router before installing or removing the bit. Insert the shank fully into the collet and tighten to the router manufacturer's collet torque specification — do not bottom the bit against the collet seat. Inspect the carbide cutting edge before each use; chipped or worn edges can cause poor surface finish and increased heat buildup in thermoplastic materials. Feed rate and spindle speed should be dialed to the router and material manufacturer recommendations for solid carbide tooling in plastic.
