The ACCUPRO 71177265 is a single-edge downcut spiral router bit engineered for precision routing in plastic materials. Built from solid carbide with a bright, uncoated finish, this bit delivers clean cuts by directing chips downward, which reduces surface tearout on the top face of the workpiece. The cutter diameter is 0.125 inches with a 0.5-inch length of cut and a matching 1/8-inch shank diameter. Overall length is 1.5 inches. The 21-degree helix angle and right-hand cutting direction are optimized for controlled material removal in production and fabrication environments. Installed by machinists and CNC routing technicians, this bit suits both manual router tables and CNC platforms.
This bit is intended for routing plastic substrates where surface finish quality on the top face is a priority. The downcut flute geometry suppresses fraying and chipping on soft or layered plastics, making it a practical choice for sign making, panel fabrication, and similar light-material routing tasks. Its compact 1/8-inch shank fits standard collets on trim routers and CNC spindles commonly used in small-format and mid-format routing applications. It is not piloted and is used freehand or with a fence and guide system.
Designed for use in routers and CNC spindles accepting a 1/8-inch collet. Intended material application is plastic. Not rated for piloted template work.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC technician. Power down and de-energize the router or spindle before changing bits, and confirm the collet and nut are clean and undamaged before seating the shank. Insert the shank to the full recommended depth and torque the collet nut per the router or spindle manufacturer specifications. Inspect the bit for chipping or wear before each use and do not operate at feed rates or depths that exceed the tool manufacturer recommendations for carbide spiral bits in plastic.
