The ACCUPRO 71177109 is a solid carbide upcut spiral router bit designed for precision cutting in aluminum applications. With a 0.125 inch cutter diameter and a 0.5 inch length of cut, this bit removes chips aggressively by pulling material upward and away from the workpiece, reducing heat buildup and extending tool life in nonferrous metals. The single-edge, right-hand cutting geometry paired with a 22-degree helix angle keeps chip evacuation efficient and cutting forces manageable. At 2 inches overall length and a 1/4 inch shank diameter, it mounts directly in standard router chucks and CNC spindle toolholders. This bit should be installed by a machinist or CNC operator familiar with router tooling and nonferrous cutting parameters. Ensure the router or CNC spindle is fully powered down and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet and tighten to the tool manufacturer's specified torque range for 1/4 inch tooling. Verify workpiece clamping is secure before beginning any cut, as small-diameter carbide bits are sensitive to lateral deflection and can fracture if feed rates are not appropriate for the material thickness.
