The ACCUPRO 63310288 is a solid carbide jobber length drill bit sized to wire gauge No. 49 (0.0730 inches decimal equivalent). It is engineered for high-performance drilling in demanding shop and field applications. The bit features a 140-degree notched point angle for fast, self-centering entry with reduced thrust, and an AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating that resists heat buildup at elevated cutting speeds. Overall length is 2 inches with a flute length of 0.516 inches and a maximum drilling depth of 0.410 inches. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 1/8 inch in diameter, fitting standard drill chucks and collets. Machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and precision fabricators are the primary installers and users of this bit.
This drill bit is suited for precision work requiring tight hole tolerances in small-diameter applications. The solid carbide construction and AlTiN coating make it appropriate for drilling hardened steels, stainless steel, cast iron, and other abrasive or hard materials where high-speed steel bits wear prematurely. The regular spiral flute geometry and web-thinned parallel web configuration promote chip evacuation and reduce walking on entry. It is well matched to CNC machining centers, drill presses, and hand-held electric drills where a 1/8-inch shank collet or chuck is available.
Designed as a high-performance replacement or production-run drill bit for applications requiring wire gauge No. 49 hole diameter; fits any drill press, CNC spindle, or hand drill accepting a 1/8-inch straight-cylindrical shank.
This bit is installed by machinists and precision fabricators in machine shop or production environments. Secure the shank fully in the collet or chuck before operation and confirm runout is within acceptable limits for the application. Use appropriate cutting fluid or air blast to manage heat where workpiece material and setup allow, even though this bit does not support coolant-through delivery. Inspect the cutting edge for chipping or wear before each use, as solid carbide is brittle and susceptible to breakage if impacted or run at incorrect feed and speed parameters.
