The ACCUPRO 63310064 is a jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in tough materials. Built from solid carbide with an AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating, it handles hardened steels, stainless, cast iron, and heat-resistant alloys where high-speed steel bits fall short. The 140-degree notched point reduces thrust and improves centering without a pilot hole. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 3/8 inch in diameter, and overall length is 3 inches. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals install this bit in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and rigid setup hand machines where carbide rigidity and coating hardness are required.
This bit suits production and job-shop environments where surface footage and heat generation exceed the limits of coated HSS tooling. The spiral flute with regular helix and parallel web configuration supports chip evacuation in through-hole and blind-hole operations. Maximum recommended drilling depth is 1.5 inches, with a flute length of 1.8 inches. The 4xD flute-to-diameter ratio makes it a standard jobber geometry suitable for general-purpose deep drilling at this diameter. Web thinning reduces entry force and minimizes workpiece distortion at the start of cut.
Designed as a standard jobber-length drill bit compatible with any drill chuck or ER collet system accepting a 3/8-inch straight-cylindrical shank.
Install and remove this bit only after the spindle has come to a complete stop and the machine is locked out per shop lockout/tagout procedures. Solid carbide is brittle — avoid side loading, interrupted cuts without proper fixturing, or over-cantilevered setups that induce vibration. Use manufacturer-recommended surface footage and feed rates for the workpiece material; running carbide too slowly in hard materials causes rubbing and premature edge failure. Coolant-through capability is not available on this bit, so direct external coolant or mist at the cutting zone when drilling materials that generate significant heat.
