The ACCUPRO 63309785 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in hard and abrasive materials. It carries an AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating that improves heat resistance and extends tool life in demanding applications. The bit features a 140-degree notched point for reduced thrust and faster penetration, a web-thinned tip for easier entry, and a right-hand spiral flute for efficient chip evacuation. At 4 inches overall length with a 1.869-inch flute, it fits standard jobber-length applications. Machinists, tool-and-die workers, and fabricators typically use this bit in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual mills.
This drill bit is suited for production drilling in ferrous metals, stainless steel, cast iron, and other hard alloys where high-speed steel bits wear quickly. The AlTiN coating allows dry or minimal-lubrication cutting at elevated temperatures, making it appropriate for high-speed CNC operations. The straight cylindrical shank with a 7/16-inch diameter seats securely in standard drill chucks and collets. It is a single-piece, solid carbide construction with no brazed joints, which provides consistent rigidity and reduced deflection at smaller diameters. The regular spiral and parallel web configuration support stable cutting geometry throughout the flute length.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct substitute for jobber-length solid carbide drill bits in the 0.4000 to 0.5000 decimal-inch size range. Compatible with any drill chuck or collet accepting a 7/16-inch straight cylindrical shank.
Installation is performed by machinists or tool operators in machine shop environments. Secure the shank fully in the chuck or collet before operation and verify runout is within acceptable limits for the application. Carbide tooling is brittle — avoid side-loading, interrupted cuts without appropriate feed reduction, or dropping the bit on hard surfaces. Follow machine manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety standards when setting spindle speed and feed rate for the workpiece material.
