The ACCUPRO 63309710 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding materials. The bit measures 11/16 inches (0.6875 inches) in diameter with a 5-inch overall length and a 140-degree notched point angle that reduces walking and improves hole entry accuracy. An AlTiN (Aluminum Titanium Nitride) coating increases surface hardness and heat resistance, making this bit well-suited for dry or minimally lubricated cutting in ferrous and hardened materials. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 3/4 inches in diameter, and the spiral flute configuration promotes efficient chip evacuation throughout the cut.
This drill bit is used in metalworking applications where carbide tooling is required to maintain edge integrity at elevated cutting speeds. Typical applications include production drilling in alloy steels, stainless steels, cast iron, and other abrasive or hardened workpiece materials. The web-thinned, parallel web design reduces thrust force at the cutting tip, which is especially useful when drilling deeper holes in tough materials. Maximum recommended drilling depth is 2.54 inches, and the 4xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports that depth range while maintaining chip clearance. Machinists, tool and die makers, and production shop technicians are the primary users of this tooling.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual mills equipped with chucks or collets accepting a 3/4-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Best suited for drilling ferrous metals and hardened materials where carbide tooling is specified.
This bit should be installed and operated by trained machinists or tooling technicians familiar with carbide cutting tools. Secure the shank fully in a collet or drill chuck rated for the shank diameter before operation, and verify runout before beginning a production run. Carbide tooling is brittle and susceptible to breakage from side loading or interrupted cuts at improper feed rates — follow the tool manufacturer's recommended speeds and feeds for the workpiece material. No coolant-through capability is present on this tool, so ensure adequate surface or flood coolant is applied externally when required by the application.
