The ACCUPRO 62760806 is a solid carbide taper length drill bit designed for precision drilling in demanding industrial and machining applications. Built with a 140-degree split point and an aluminum titanium nitride (AlTiN) coating, this bit resists heat and wear during high-speed cutting operations. The spiral flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation across the 4.922-inch flute length, while coolant-through capability delivers cutting fluid directly to the tip for extended tool life and tighter tolerances. At 7.48 inches overall length with a straight shank, it mounts directly in standard chucks and tool holders without adapters. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in production environments rely on this geometry for deep-hole drilling where reach and rigidity matter.
This drill bit is suited for CNC machining centers, manual knee mills, and drill presses where a longer reach is required beyond what a jobber-length bit provides. The 9/16-inch (0.5625-inch) diameter and 7xD flute-to-diameter ratio make it effective for through-holes and deeper blind holes in ferrous metals, stainless steel, cast iron, and hardened alloys. The AlTiN finish performs well in dry or minimum-quantity lubrication setups as well as flood-coolant environments. Typical users include production machinists, tool room technicians, and metalworking shops running high-volume drilling programs.
Designed as an OEM-style taper length drill bit for use in CNC machining centers, manual mills, and drill presses accepting a straight shank with a 16 mm (0.5625-inch) diameter.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with rotating cutting tool setup. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the bit from any tool holder or collet. Verify shank runout with a dial indicator before beginning a drilling program, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear on carbide tooling. Follow the machine manufacturer and tooling supplier guidelines for recommended speeds and feeds for the specific workpiece material.
