The ACCUPRO 62760798 is a taper length drill bit engineered for demanding metal cutting and deep-hole drilling applications. Built from solid carbide and coated with AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride), this bit delivers high heat resistance and extended tool life in abrasive and hard-material environments. The drill features a 140-degree split point angle for accurate starting without center punching, a 0.6250-inch (5/8-inch) diameter, and a spiral flute design with a 7xD flute-to-diameter ratio. Coolant-through capability allows internal coolant delivery to the cutting zone, reducing heat buildup and chip evacuation issues during deep drilling operations. Licensed machinists and tool-and-die professionals are the primary users.
This taper length drill bit is suited for ferrous and non-ferrous metals, stainless steels, cast iron, and other difficult-to-machine materials in CNC machining centers and manual drill presses. The straight shank with a 16.00 mm shank diameter fits standard ER collet chucks and keyless chucks commonly used in production and job-shop environments. The extended 5.469-inch flute length supports deeper reach than jobber-length bits of the same diameter, making it appropriate for through-holes and deeper blind holes in structural and tooling components.
Designed as a taper length, straight-shank drill bit for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and similar machine tool setups that accept 16.00 mm straight-shank tooling with collet or keyless chuck holding systems.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer guidelines for chuck torque and runout tolerance. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tooling circuit is de-energized or locked out before inserting or removing the bit. Verify shank seating depth and chuck engagement before initiating a cut. When using the coolant-through feature, confirm that coolant pressure and flow rate are within the range recommended for the machine spindle and workpiece material.
