The ACCUPRO 62760772 is a solid carbide taper length drill bit designed for precision drilling in demanding machining applications. Ground to a 140-degree point angle with a spiral flute geometry, this bit delivers aggressive chip evacuation and reduced thrust in hard and abrasive workpiece materials. The AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) finish increases surface hardness and thermal resistance, extending tool life in high-speed and dry-cutting conditions. Through-coolant capability allows cutting fluid to reach the cutting edge directly, reducing heat buildup during deep-hole operations. The straight shank provides secure, repeatable seating in standard drill chucks and collet holders. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals working with CNC machining centers are the primary installers of this bit.
This drill bit is suited for taper length drilling operations in ferrous metals, hardened steels, stainless alloys, and similar difficult-to-machine materials. The 7xD flute-length-to-diameter ratio supports deeper hole depths than stub-length bits while maintaining rigidity. With a drill diameter of 0.0938 inches (3/32 inch), a flute length of 0.821 inches, and an overall length of 2.992 inches, this bit fits applications where extended reach beyond a jobber-length drill is required but full extra-length geometry is unnecessary. Through-coolant compatibility makes it well suited for horizontal and vertical machining center setups where internal coolant delivery is available.
Designed as an OEM-style taper length drill bit for use in CNC machining centers and manual drill presses equipped with standard straight-shank toolholders or drill chucks accepting a 0.0938-inch shank diameter.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer's setup procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before loading or removing the bit from the toolholder. Verify collet or chuck runout with a dial indicator before production drilling, as excessive runout accelerates carbide wear and can cause premature breakage. When using through-coolant, confirm that coolant pressure and flow rate are compatible with the machine spindle's internal delivery system before beginning the operation.
