The ACCUPRO 62760731 is a solid carbide taper length drill bit designed for precision drilling in demanding machining environments. Built from solid carbide with an AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating, it handles high-heat, high-speed cutting applications where standard HSS bits fall short. The 140-degree split point reduces walking and improves chip formation on entry. With a flute length of 1.094 inches and an overall length of 2.992 inches, this bit offers a 7xD flute-to-diameter ratio that balances reach with rigidity. It accepts coolant through the body, making it well suited for deep-hole work in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals are the primary users.
This bit is sized at 1/8 inch (0.1250 inches) diameter with a matching straight shank at the same diameter, making it compatible with standard drill chucks and collet holders sized for 1/8 inch. The taper length geometry is a common choice for CNC machining centers, manual mills, and drill presses where a longer flute than a jobber-length bit is needed without going to a full extra-long configuration. The AlTiN finish extends tool life in hardened steels, stainless, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys. Coolant-through capability makes it practical for production runs and tight-tolerance bore work.
Designed for use in standard drill chucks and collet holders accepting a 1/8 inch straight shank, including common ER collet systems and keyless chucks found on CNC machining centers and manual drill presses.
Installation and use should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Secure the shank fully within the chuck or collet before operation and verify runout before cutting. Power down and de-energize the machine spindle before changing tooling. Follow machine tool manufacturer guidelines for speed and feed settings appropriate to the workpiece material; do not exceed the rated operating parameters for carbide tooling.
