The ACCUPRO 62760590 is a taper length drill bit built from solid carbide and finished with an AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating. It carries a 9/32 inch (0.2812 inch) diameter and a 140-degree split-point angle for fast, accurate starts without a center punch. The 2.461-inch flute length provides a 7xD length-to-diameter ratio, giving it reach for deeper holes than a standard jobber bit while maintaining rigidity. Coolant-through capability supports high-pressure internal coolant delivery, helping extend tool life and clear chips in demanding applications. Licensed machinists, tool-and-die makers, and CNC machine operators are the primary installers of this bit.
This bit is suited for drilling in ferrous metals, stainless steels, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys where heat buildup and tool wear are primary concerns. The AlTiN coating provides a hard, heat-resistant surface layer that performs well at elevated cutting speeds. The straight shank measures 8.00 mm in diameter, fitting standard drill chucks and collet holders used in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual mills. Its taper length profile makes it a common choice when standard jobber bits lack the flute reach for the application.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit taper length drill bit for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual milling machines equipped with standard drill chucks or collet holders accepting an 8.00 mm straight shank.
Installation is performed by machinists and CNC operators following standard toolholding procedures. Confirm the spindle or chuck is fully stopped and the machine is locked out before changing tooling. Seat the straight shank fully into the collet or chuck jaws and torque to the toolholder specification. When running coolant-through, verify the machine spindle supplies adequate coolant pressure to the tool centerline before engaging the cut.
