The ACCUPRO 61534038 is a solid carbide jobber length drill bit designed for precision hole-making in demanding materials. Sized at No. 21 wire gauge (0.1590 inches in diameter), it features a 140-degree split point for fast penetration and reduced walking on entry. The AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating provides heat resistance and extends tool life in high-speed applications. At 3.189 inches overall length with a 0.994-inch flute length, this bit suits CNC machining centers, drill presses, and automated production environments. Coolant-through capability supports high-feed operations in steel, stainless, cast iron, and similar hard materials. Licensed machinists and toolroom professionals are the primary installers.
This drill bit is suited for high-performance drilling in ferrous metals, hardened steels, stainless alloys, and other abrasive workpiece materials where a standard HSS bit would fall short. The straight-cylindrical shank seats directly in standard drill chucks, collets, and toolholders without adapters. A 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and regular spiral geometry support chip evacuation in moderate-depth holes. The web-thinned, tapered web configuration reduces thrust force and improves centering accuracy. This bit is appropriate for production-volume drilling where consistent hole quality and tool life are priorities.
Designed as a No. 21 wire-gauge jobber length drill bit for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual machines equipped with standard collets or drill chucks accepting a 5.00 mm (0.197-inch) straight shank.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians familiar with cutting tool setup and machine operation. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before loading or removing the bit. Verify chuck or collet runout is within acceptable limits before use, as excessive runout accelerates carbide chipping. When enabling coolant-through delivery, confirm the machine spindle and toolholder are rated for through-coolant flow before engaging the coolant supply.
