The ACCUPRO 588202 is an ER32 series collet designed for precision workholding in CNC milling, drilling, and tapping applications. With a collet size of 0.185 inches and a minimum collet capacity of 0.172 inches, this collet clamps round shanks firmly within its range, transmitting torque with consistent concentricity. It is rated for 300 psi clamping pressure. Machinists and tool-room technicians install ER32 collets into compatible ER32 collet chucks or toolholders mounted in machining centers, knee mills, and multi-axis CNC machines. The ER collet system is one of the most widely used workholding standards in precision machining due to its balance of grip range, runout accuracy, and quick tool changes.
This collet is suited for use in production and job-shop environments where consistent tool or workpiece clamping is required. It is appropriate for holding drills, end mills, reamers, and round-shank tooling within its stated capacity range. The 0.185-inch size fills a specific capacity slot in a complete ER32 collet set. It is sold individually, making it a practical replacement for a worn or damaged collet in an existing set without requiring full-set purchase.
Designed for use with ER32-standard collet chucks and toolholders. Compatible with any machine spindle or toolholder built to the ER32 collet system standard. Verify toolholder designation before ordering to confirm ER32 fitment.
ER32 collets are installed by machinists and toolroom technicians. Before changing collets, ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped, the control is in E-stop or locked out, and the toolholder is removed from the spindle per shop lockout-tagout procedures. Seat the collet into the nut before threading onto the chuck body, and do not tighten the nut without a tool shank or collet plug installed, as this can deform the collet. Use a calibrated torque wrench and the appropriate ER32 spanner nut wrench for final tightening.
