The ACCUPRO 587510 is an ER40 series collet designed for precision machining applications in CNC and manual milling, drilling, and tapping operations. This collet accepts a nominal shank diameter of 0.433 inches (11.00 mm) with a minimum collet capacity of 0.393 inches (10.0 mm), providing a secure clamping range for compatible tooling. The total indicator runout (TIR) is rated at 0.01 mm, delivering the concentricity required for tight-tolerance work. Machinists and toolroom technicians install this collet into ER40-compatible collet chucks on machining centers, lathes, and manual mills.
This collet is suited for production machining and toolroom environments where consistent tool runout and repeatable clamping force are essential. It fits any ER40 collet chuck conforming to the standard ER40 specification. Typical applications include end mill holding, drill holding, reamer holding, and tap holding across a range of ferrous and non-ferrous workpiece materials. Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before inserting or removing collets. Seat the collet into the collet nut before threading the nut onto the chuck body — never install the collet directly into the chuck without engaging the retaining groove first. Inspect the collet bore and chuck taper for chips, wear, or damage before each use to maintain TIR performance.
