The ACCUPRO 587505 is an ER40 series collet designed for use in CNC machining centers, milling machines, lathes, and other rotating spindle equipment that accept ER40 toolholding systems. This collet holds a nominal bore size of 0.275 inches (7.00mm) and is rated to a minimum collet capacity of 0.236 inches (6.0mm), giving it a usable clamping range suited for straight-shank cutting tools and workholding applications. The 587505 carries a Total Indicator Runout (TIR) rating of 0.01mm, indicating a high degree of concentricity suitable for precision cutting operations. Machinists, toolroom technicians, and CNC setup personnel are the primary installers and users of this collet.
This collet is appropriate for production machining environments where consistent tool runout and repeatable clamping are required. It fits standard ER40 collet chucks used across a wide range of vertical and horizontal machining centers, manual mills, and turning centers equipped with ER40-compatible spindle toolholding. The ER40 series is widely used in both job shop and production settings where a broad range of tool shank diameters must be accommodated within a single chuck system.
Designed for use with ER40 series collet chucks and spindle toolholders that conform to the ER40 collet standard. Verify chuck nose diameter and collet nut compatibility before installation.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Before inserting or removing the collet, ensure the spindle is fully stopped, the machine is in a safe state, and the collet nut is fully released. Use a proper ER collet nut wrench and collet chuck wrench to achieve correct clamping torque — do not use improvised tools that can damage the collet taper or nut. Inspect the collet bore and chuck taper for chips or debris before each use to maintain TIR performance.
