The ACCUPRO 587481 is an ER20 series collet designed for use in CNC machining centers, milling machines, and other rotating spindle equipment that accept the ER20 collet standard. With a collet size of 0.393 inches (10.00 mm) and a minimum collet capacity of 0.354 inches (9.0 mm), this collet provides a secure, concentric grip on cutting tools within that range. It holds a total indicated runout (TIR) of 0.01 mm, supporting the close-tolerance work that machinists and toolroom technicians require. Machinists, CNC operators, and tool-and-die professionals are the primary installers of this type of collet.
The ACCUPRO 587481 is suited for light to medium-duty machining applications in production and job-shop environments. It fits any ER20-compatible collet chuck or toolholder, making it a common replacement or additional-stock collet for shops running ER20 spindle tooling. Typical applications include end milling, drilling, reaming, and tapping where precise tool runout control is critical to part finish and tool life.

Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before changing collets. The collet should be seated fully into the ER20 nut before threading onto the toolholder body, and the nut should be torqued using the appropriate ER collet wrench to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Inspect collet seating surfaces and the bore for chips or debris before assembly to avoid false runout readings.
