The ACCUPRO 587302 is an ER16 series collet designed for use in CNC machining centers, milling machines, and high-speed spindles where precise tool holding is critical. It accepts tooling at a collet size of 0.039 inches (1.00 mm) with a minimum collet capacity of 0.02 inches (0.5 mm), offering a clamping range suited to small-diameter end mills, drills, and router bits. The 587302 holds a total indicator runout (TIR) of 0.01 mm, making it appropriate for applications that demand tight concentricity and minimal vibration at the cutting tool. Machinists and toolroom technicians are the primary installers of this collet.
The ACCUPRO 587302 is used in light-duty to medium-duty machining operations where small-diameter tooling must be held with consistent accuracy. It fits ER16-compatible collet chucks and tool holders found on benchtop CNC routers, engraving machines, and compact vertical machining centers. The small collet size makes it particularly useful in precision engraving, PCB drilling, and fine detail milling work where tool diameter is at or near 1.00 mm.
Designed for use with ER16-series collet chucks and tool holders that accept the standard ER16 collet form factor.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician. Before inserting or removing the collet, ensure the spindle is fully stopped and all machine power is off or the E-stop is engaged. Seat the collet into the collet nut before threading the nut onto the chuck body — never torque the nut onto an empty chuck. Inspect the collet bore and chuck taper for chips or contamination before each use, as debris will directly affect runout.
