The ACCUPRO 54029988 is a solid carbide milling insert designed for use in indexable milling cutters. It features an LNKU insert style with a rectangular shape and carries the ACK15 manufacturer grade with a CVD coating for wear resistance at elevated cutting temperatures. The insert has a positive rake geometry and a 0-degree relief angle, making it suited for demanding milling operations on ferrous and non-ferrous materials. With four available cutting edges on a double-sided configuration, this insert offers extended tool life between indexing events. It is installed and indexed by licensed machinists and toolroom technicians working with compatible milling cutter bodies.
This insert is intended for use in milling applications where controlled chip formation and consistent surface finish are required. The CI series designation and LNKU cutter series compatibility make it appropriate for face milling, shoulder milling, and similar operations in production and job-shop environments. It suits both horizontal and vertical machining center setups. The maximum depth of cut is 0.4724 inches (12.00 mm), which positions it for medium-duty material removal passes. Right-hand cutting orientation should be confirmed against the cutter body before installation.
Compatible with LNKU cutter series milling bodies. ISO code LNKU120608ERCCM identifies the exact insert geometry for cross-referencing with compatible toolholders. Confirm cutter body pocket geometry and hand of cut before installation.
Installation of indexable milling inserts should be performed by qualified machinists with the spindle locked and machine power isolated. Use the manufacturer-specified torx or hex key to seat the clamping screw to the cutter body recommendation. Inspect the insert pocket for debris or damage before seating a new insert. Do not use damaged or chipped inserts, as they can fracture during cutting and create a hazard.
