The ACCUPRO 4500470 is a taper length solid carbide drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding materials. Built from solid carbide with a TiAlN coating, this bit handles the heat and abrasion generated when drilling stainless steel and similarly difficult alloys. The 140-degree point angle provides a self-centering entry that reduces walking and minimizes burring on exit. A right-hand spiral flute with R-thinned web geometry lowers thrust requirements and improves chip evacuation. Coolant-through construction supports high-speed applications where heat buildup is a primary concern. Licensed machinists, tool-and-die specialists, and precision fabricators are the primary installers of this bit.
This drill bit is suited for production and job-shop environments where tight tolerances and surface integrity matter. Its 8xD flute-to-diameter ratio makes it effective for drilling deeper holes relative to diameter without sacrificing rigidity. The straight cylindrical shank seats directly into standard drill chucks and collet holders with a 6 mm shank diameter. Primary material application is stainless steel, though the TiAlN coating provides thermal resistance appropriate for other high-alloy and hardened materials as well. It is sold individually and packaged as a single unit.
Designed for use in standard drill chucks and collet holders accepting a straight cylindrical shank. Primary material application listed by the manufacturer is stainless steel. Compatible with CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual machines equipped to support coolant-through tooling.
Installation and use of this bit should be performed by a qualified machinist or trained tooling professional. Secure the straight shank fully in a properly sized collet or drill chuck before operation, and verify runout before cutting. When using coolant-through capability, confirm the machine spindle and toolholder are set up to deliver coolant to the tool. Follow machine manufacturer guidelines for speed and feed rates appropriate to the workpiece material.
