The ACCUPRO 4500465 is a taper length drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in demanding materials. Built from solid carbide and coated with TiAlN (titanium aluminum nitride), it delivers extended tool life and heat resistance at elevated cutting speeds. The 140-degree split point reduces thrust and prevents walking on entry, making it well suited for accurate hole placement without a center punch. With a flute length of approximately 1.69 inches (43 mm) and an overall length of approximately 3.19 inches (81 mm), this bit handles deeper reach applications where a jobber-length bit falls short. A straight cylindrical shank seats securely in standard drill chucks or collet holders.
This drill bit is designed for precision drilling in stainless steel and other hard, abrasion-resistant materials where heat buildup and tool wear are primary concerns. The 8xD flute-to-diameter ratio gives it the extended reach typical of taper length geometry, making it a practical choice for machine shop, tool room, and production environments. Coolant-through capability supports high-pressure internal coolant delivery, improving chip evacuation and thermal management during deep-hole operations in CNC drilling centers and machining cells.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and other machine tool setups configured for straight-shank solid carbide taper length drill bits. Rated for stainless steel applications per supplier specification.
Installation and use of this drill bit should be performed by qualified machinists or toolroom personnel familiar with carbide tooling. Secure the straight shank fully in a collet chuck or drill chuck rated for the shank diameter before operation. Carbide tooling is brittle — avoid side loading, interrupted cuts without appropriate feed rates, or using the bit in hand-held drills. Always confirm spindle speed and feed rate are appropriate for the workpiece material and bit diameter before engaging the cut.
