The ACCUPRO 4500384 is a solid carbide screw machine length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding applications. With a 1/4 inch (0.2500 inch) diameter and a 140-degree web-thinned point, this bit delivers fast, accurate entry and reduced thrust force compared to standard split-point geometries. The TiAlN coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life when drilling hard and abrasive materials. At 3.465 inches overall length with a 1.279 inch flute length, this is a stub-length bit built for rigidity and minimized deflection in short-reach drilling setups. It is installed and used by machinists and tool-and-die professionals in production drilling environments.
This drill bit is optimized for drilling stainless steels and other hard ferrous materials where heat and work hardening are primary concerns. The TiAlN coating performs well in dry or minimal-lubrication conditions at elevated cutting speeds. The straight cylindrical shank with a 0.2656 inch diameter fits standard drill chucks and collets. Coolant-through capability allows internal delivery of cutting fluid when used in compatible spindles, extending tool life in high-volume production runs. The 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio and regular spiral flute geometry promote reliable chip evacuation in these applications.
Part of the ACCUPRO ASSC140-TA-CL series, sized for 0.2500 to 0.3000 inch diameter range applications. Primary workpiece material designation is stainless steels. Designed as a high-performance replacement or production drill bit for use in CNC machining centers and drill presses with compatible chuck or collet tooling.
This drill bit is intended for use by machinists and trained tooling professionals. Secure the straight shank firmly in a drill chuck or collet before operation and verify runout is within acceptable limits. When using coolant-through capability, confirm the spindle and toolholder support internal coolant delivery before engaging fluid supply. Inspect the cutting edges and coating for wear or chipping before each use and replace if damage is observed.
