The ACCUPRO 4500303 is a screw machine length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding applications. Built from solid carbide and coated with TiAlN, this bit delivers heat and wear resistance suited to cutting stainless steels and other tough materials. At 7/32 inch (0.2188 inches) in diameter with a 140-degree web-thinned point, it reduces thrust and improves centering on entry. The straight cylindrical shank measures 0.2344 inches in diameter, and the overall length is 3.228 inches, keeping the tool compact for tight-clearance work. Two regular spiral flutes evacuate chips efficiently during the cut. This bit is appropriate for machinists, toolroom technicians, and maintenance mechanics working in production or job-shop environments.
This screw machine length drill bit is intended for drilling stainless steels as the primary workpiece material, including austenitic and martensitic grades commonly encountered in fabrication and repair work. The shorter overall length compared to jobber-length bits reduces deflection and improves rigidity in vertical mills, drill presses, and CNC machining centers. The coolant-through design supports through-spindle coolant delivery, making it suitable for deeper holes where chip evacuation and heat management are critical. The 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio keeps the flute length at 1.181 inches, optimized for stub-length applications.
Designed for use in drill presses, vertical mills, and CNC machining centers with straight-shank tool holders. Primary workpiece material is stainless steel per manufacturer specification. Part of the ACCUPRO ASSC140-TA-CL series for high-performance stub-length drilling.
Install in a straight-shank collet or drill chuck rated for the 0.2344-inch shank diameter and secure per machine tool manufacturer specifications before operation. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before changing tooling. When using through-spindle coolant, confirm coolant pressure and flow rate are within the machining center specifications before running the cycle. Follow applicable shop safety standards and machine tool manufacturer guidelines for speeds and feeds when drilling stainless steel.
