The ACCUPRO 4500272 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in demanding materials. It features a 140-degree split point geometry with R-thinned web for fast, accurate hole starts without center-punching. The TiAlN coating extends tool life in high-heat cutting environments. At 10.10 mm in diameter (0.3976 inches decimal equivalent) with a 4.6457-inch overall length, this drill is sized for production and job-shop applications where precision and durability are required. Coolant-through capability supports chip evacuation and thermal management during deep-hole operations. A licensed machinist or tool-and-die technician is the typical installer.
This drill is optimized for stainless steel and similarly tough ferrous alloys where heat generation and work hardening are primary concerns. The right-hand, regular spiral flute design with a 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio promotes chip flow in through-hole and blind-hole scenarios. The straight cylindrical shank at 12 mm diameter fits standard drill chucks and collet holders on CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual knee mills. It conforms to DIN specification and is classified under UNSPSC code 23241634.
Designed for use in stainless steel and high-alloy ferrous workpieces; fits standard 12 mm straight-shank drill chucks and collet systems on CNC and manual machine tools. Sized within the 10.00 mm to 12.50 mm drill bit range per DIN specification.
Installation and use of solid carbide tooling should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with proper chuck torque, runout tolerances, and speeds-and-feeds selection for the workpiece material. Confirm spindle and chuck runout is within acceptable limits before seating the shank to prevent premature edge chipping. Use appropriate cutting fluid or coolant when operating with the through-coolant feature active. Inspect the cutting edges and coating for damage before each use; carbide is brittle and should not be subjected to impact or side loading beyond design parameters.
