The ACCUPRO 4500227 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding metalworking applications. Measuring 15.00 mm in diameter with a 140-degree split point angle, this drill is built for precision entry and reduced walking on hard materials. The TiAlN coating adds thermal resistance and wear life, making it well suited for dry or minimal-coolant cutting environments. At 5.2362 inches overall length with an 83.00 mm flute length, the 4500227 delivers a 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio. Coolant-through capability supports chip evacuation in deep-hole operations. A right-hand, regular spiral flute geometry and R-thinned web reduce thrust and improve hole finish.
This drill is intended for professional machinists and tool-and-die technicians working with stainless steel and other hard-to-machine alloys. The 140-degree proprietary point geometry and TiAlN coating make it particularly effective in production environments where tool life and consistent hole quality in austenitic or martensitic stainless grades are critical. The straight cylindrical shank at 16 mm diameter seats securely in standard drill chucks and collet holders. It is rated as a high-performance grade per DIN specification and is suited for CNC machining centers and manual drill presses running appropriate feed and speed parameters for carbide tooling.
Designed for use in drilling stainless steel and similarly hard workpiece materials. Compatible with standard drill chucks and collet holders accepting a 16 mm straight cylindrical shank.
Installation and use of carbide drill bits should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with carbide tooling requirements. Ensure the spindle and workholding are in good condition and that runout is within acceptable limits before use, as carbide is brittle and sensitive to lateral loading. Apply appropriate cutting fluid or verify coolant-through supply is active before beginning a drilling cycle. Do not use carbide drills in hand-held drill applications; secure both tool and workpiece rigidly in a machine tool.
