The ACCUPRO 4500217 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for precision hole-making in aluminum and non-ferrous materials. Built to a 0.2500 inch diameter with an 118-degree point angle, this bit features a DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) coating that reduces friction and extends tool life in demanding production environments. The straight cylindrical shank measures 0.2656 inches in diameter, and the overall length comes in at 4.2969 inches. Right-hand cutting with a regular spiral flute pattern, this drill suits CNC machining centers, drill presses, and handheld operations where clean, accurate holes are required. It is sold individually and intended for use by machinists and tool-and-die professionals.
This drill bit is purpose-built for cutting aluminum and other non-ferrous metals, where the DLC coating minimizes built-up edge and maintains sharp cutting geometry over repeated use. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio provides adequate chip evacuation for jobber-length drilling applications. Coolant-through capability supports high-speed CNC operations where internal coolant delivery is available, helping to extend tool life and maintain hole quality. The ISO specification designation makes it compatible with standard toolholding systems used in production machine shops and fabrication operations.
Primary workpiece material is aluminum and non-ferrous metals. ISO specification designation supports use with standard toolholding systems. Designed for jobber-length drilling in CNC machining centers and conventional drill presses.
Install and remove drill bits only with the machine powered down and the spindle fully stopped. Secure the straight shank firmly in a compatible drill chuck or collet toolholder to the appropriate clamping torque per the toolholder manufacturer guidelines. When using coolant-through capability, verify that the machine spindle and toolholder assembly support internal coolant delivery before engaging coolant flow. Inspect the cutting edge for chipping or wear before each use, as carbide tooling can fail without visible warning if run beyond service life.
