The ACCUPRO 4500189 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding metalworking applications. It measures 9/64 inches (0.1406 inches decimal) in diameter with a 3-5/8 inch overall length and a 140-degree split-point geometry. The TiAlN coating improves heat resistance and tool life when cutting hard materials. A straight cylindrical shank provides secure chuck retention, and the R-thinned web reduces thrust and improves chip evacuation. Licensed machinists, tool-and-die shops, and maintenance technicians working with stainless steel and other tough alloys are the primary users of this bit.
This drill bit is rated for primary use in stainless steel and is suited for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and hand-held drilling operations where dimensional accuracy and finish quality are critical. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and regular spiral flute design support consistent chip clearing in deep-hole applications. Coolant-through capability makes it compatible with through-spindle coolant setups common in production machining environments. The 15/64 inch shank diameter fits standard drill chucks and collet systems used in both manual and automated machine tool setups.
Designed as a high-performance replacement jobber drill for applications in stainless steel and similarly hard alloys. Fits any standard drill chuck or collet accepting a 15/64 inch (0.2344 inches decimal) straight shank. Conforms to ISO specification designation for jobber-length drill bits.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians familiar with drill bit selection, speeds, and feeds for carbide tooling. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the chuck or collet is properly torqued before beginning a drilling operation. When using with through-spindle coolant, confirm that coolant pressure and flow rate are within the machine tool manufacturer's specifications. Carbide bits are brittle compared to high-speed steel - avoid lateral loading or prying, as this can cause chipping or fracture.
