The ACCUPRO 4500183 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit sized at 15/64 inch (0.2344 inch decimal) with a 140-degree split point and a TiAlN (titanium aluminum nitride) coating. At 3-15/16 inches overall length with a 1-57/64 inch flute length, it is built for high-performance drilling in demanding materials. The right-hand, regular spiral flute geometry evacuates chips efficiently, and the R-thinned web reduces thrust load at entry. Coolant-through capability allows internal coolant delivery directly to the cutting zone, extending tool life in deep-hole applications. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals specify this bit for precise, repeatable hole quality.
This drill bit is engineered for primary use in stainless steel and similarly tough ferrous and non-ferrous alloys where standard HSS tooling wears prematurely. It is suited for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual mills where a straight cylindrical shank and tight tolerances are required. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports jobber-length reach without sacrificing rigidity. Typical applications include fabrication shops, aerospace component work, and industrial maintenance operations where hole finish and dimensional accuracy are critical.
Designed as a jobber-length replacement drill for applications requiring a 15/64 inch straight-shank carbide bit, compatible with standard drill chucks and collets accepting a 0.2344 inch shank diameter.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and the machine locked out per applicable safety procedures. Secure the straight cylindrical shank firmly in the chuck or collet to the full shank engagement depth before operation. When running coolant-through, verify that the machine spindle and toolholder support internal coolant delivery at the required pressure. Inspect the cutting edges and coating for damage before each use; carbide is brittle and should not be subjected to lateral shock loads.
